OILS
Selecting the proper grinding fluid is critical to achieving maximum performance from both your machine tool and filtration system.
Selecting the proper grinding fluid is critical to achieving maximum performance from both your machine tool and filtration system. Transor offers a complete line of oils that are matched for a wide variety of applications such cutter tool
grinding, EDM and honing. When coupled with Transor’s One Micron Filtration, these oils result in finer finishes, faster cycles and long-lasting performance.
TG250
Transor’s TG-250 is a quality mineral based, low viscosity grinding oil that produces optimal grinding efficiencies when grinding carbide materials. When used with a Transor Filtration system, customers will experience incrediibly long filter element life. TG-250 is a clear, ordorless oil that has NO aromatics or esters which make it a very operator friendly oil.
EXP – Synthetic
Transor’s EXP is a severely hydrocracked and hydroisomerized (Group II) type fluid that yields improved quality, performance and user friendliness as compared to conventional (Group I) solvent refined products. The patented refining process used to manufacture EXP removes 99.9% of the impurities typically found in conventional fluids which typically have 15-30% of these unwanted compounds.
By removing these unwanted impurities, EXP provides the following end-user benefits: Virtually Odorless/Colorless; High Viscosity Stability; Improved Heat Dissipation; Faster Cycle Times; and Improved Performance.
TransoGrind “Plus” Formulas
Both the TransoGrind TG-250 and EXP are also available in “PLUS” formulation. The new “PLUS” designations reflect an additive package that makes each product ideal for demanding carbide, HSS and stainless steel applications providing faster cycle times, reduced burn marks and sharper edges on tools.
Their exceptional performance includes heat dissipation, increased cycle times and significant reduction of burn marks
EVN – Environmentally Friendly
EVN’s “Environmentally Friendly” designation is because, unlike most grinding oils that are petroleum based, EVN is a vegetable based oil. EVN is completely biodegradable and it is not harmful in cases of leakage or spills.
Combining a low viscosity (5.4 cSt) with a high flash point (370 degrees F), not possible in petroleum based products, means that EVN improves flushing, which helps grinding performance while also providing the increased safety features.
Compared to traditional grinding oils, EVN users have experienced up to 30% less evaporation along with significantly reduced misting, thus reducing maintenance making it a very cost effective investment. When EVN is used in Transor‘s One Micron filtration systems featuring automatic backflushing, its life expectancy is indefinite.
US1 – Norpar™ 15 Equivalent
US-1 dielectric oil is a primary alternative for the recently discontinued ExxonMobil Norpar™ 15.
US-1’s formulation is designed to meet the specifications and performance characteristics of Norpar 15. The advantage of switching to US-1 is that many users have found that it can be mixed with Norpar 15 so that existing Norpar 15 users will not be required to purchase new oil for their operation or require disposal prior to starting up with US-1.
