USCTI Optimistic for 2012
The US Cutting Tool Institute held their most recent meeting at Key West, Florida over the weekend of May 28-30. Transor Filter was one of several sponsors of the organization to attend along with other leaders in the cutting tool field.
President Dave Povich of Tool Alliance presided over the 2 day event that featured inspirational speakers such as former football coach at Auburn University, Terry Bowden. Bowden spoke of the importance of building team work with everyone working toward the same goal and recognizing their importance to the team. Harry Moser, former President of Agie/Charmilles and now a leading spokesman to return manufacturing to America, outlined a compelling argument to consider the total cost of producing products offshore and predicted that by 2015 production in the US would actually be cheaper than in China.
The overall forecast for the industry for the balance of 2012 was very positive. |

New Expandable, Centralized, Filtration System...Ideal For Growing Operations
Transor Filter has introduced a new, EXPANDABLE centralized filtration system that features their patented One Micron Filtration (OMF). The new modular design allows companies to expand their filter capabilities as their needs and department grow.
The base filter module consists of 12 filter vessels, a 30 kw refrigerant system and clean storage tank with multiple flush pumps. The base unit can be expanded with additional modules configured with either 6 or 12 vessels. Each grouping of three filter vessels operates independently. Transor recently shipped its largest unit to date. It consists of 36 vessels holding 6,000 gallons. This system produces clean oil at a rate of 1,000+ gallons per minute.
As with all Transor Systems, the automatic backflushing cleans the filter elements and places the debris in a container for easy disposal or reclamation. Except for the removal of the disposal bags, the process requires no operator interaction and no machine down-time.

Says Irv Kaage, "We continue to expect strong, sustained growth in China and for that matter the Pacific Rim as manufacturers understand the benefits of One Micron filtration and the Transor System.”

TRANSOR FILTER And TUNGCO Reach Agreement on Recycling Carbide for Customers
Transor Filter and Tungco (Madisonville, KY) have reached an agreement to introduce Transor customers to Tungco’s tungsten reclamation services. Tungco has been in the recycling business for over 40 years and has earned a reputation for service. Ryan Sizemore, Tungco Procurement Officer, commented on building a relationship with Transor customers. “Our experience is that the Transor system yields a higher percentage or tungsten, and of course, greater return for the customer.”
Transor President Irv Kaage pointed to Tungco’s quick turn-around of material analysis and, unlike other recycling firms, Tungco’s policy is upfront payment of a percentage of the estimated return. He noted that this can add real value to Transor’s existing customer base, as well as help future users see another ROI benefit in purchasing a Transor system. “This past year has been a challenging one and has forced companies to look at what they do and how they do it,” stated Kaage. “We are pleased to have Tungco as a preferred partner because of their reputation for the efficient recycling of carbide for hundreds of customers nationally and the many benefits they can deliver for Transor users.”
