Compared to traditional design, the linear concept offers higher accuracy and repeatability and is virtually maintenance free.  To address the heat generated by the motors, a liquid such as a grinding oil is often used.

TWO  clean oil storage areas within the filter.  All filtered oil is placed in a  primary clean oil storage area which is dedicated to feeding the linear motors via a separate feed pump. Oil not required for the motors flows to a secondary clean storage area which delivers clean oil to the grinding area.
