Honing Oil Filtration

Transor has a custom oil filtration solution for all types of Honing in your applications.

Now the benefits of crystal clean oil are available for Honing

Transor has a custom oil filtration solution for all the major OEMs including Stahli single and double disc grinders as well as Blanchard grinders.

Today, traditional honing and lapping operations have taken on a new dimension of accuracy and precision. For example, in double wheel lapping - often referred to as fine grinding - the abrasive wheels far exceed the 0.0002- to 0.0003-inch tolerances of conventional grinders, and it takes that 0.025 inch of carbide stock off both sides simultaneously within 4 to 5 minutes. The result is a new level of “flatness” and concentricity not previously obtainable.

To achieve such results, temperature controlled coolant utilizing Transor’s One Micron Filtration (OMF) makes all the difference. One Micron filtered coolant eliminates particulate build-up on the grinding wheels, which results in optimum wheel performance while extending its life. Dramatically improved surface finishes are also achieved, eliminating secondary polishing in most cases. The overall result is faster cycle times and improved product finishes.

See how Transor Filter and you can team up to create tighter tolerances, lower maintenance costs, faster cycle times and other advantages using oil and Transor Filter Systems.

Major advancements in manufacturing have taken place in recent years with machine tools offering such features as increased accuracy, faster cycle times and untended operation. Filtration, however, has long been a misunderstood and neglected component of the machining process.

This has led to rising maintenance and disposal costs and contributed to less than optimal machining efficiency. Already used in operations world-wide, Transor’s One Micron Filter (OMF) provides the finest in filtration, providing benefits that are not present in cartridges, paper roll or centrifuge systems.

As with all Transor Filtration Systems, benefits include:

  • Elimination of existing maintenance cost (filters, cartridges, paper rolls, pre-coat)
  • Reduced labor cost for maintenance
  • Reduced disposal cost
  • Prolonged coolant life
  • Reduced cycle times, improved accuracy, finer finishes
  • Improved accuracies and consistency of the grinding process
  • Extended wheel life
  • Increased machine up-time
  • Reduced machine maintenance and extended life of your capital investment
  • Greatly reduced consumable costs
